About This Game Be aware, this game does not support Steam Cloud yet. Great Hero's Beard has a very satisfying progression system. Almost everything you do in game makes your character-Turgut evolve & progress further in the world. Very fast and fun automated combat where everything depends on your items, stats and skill chances! Build your character with stat points, randomized items & through the skill tree choices. After you're done with the junk items send them to the fusion system, which in return will spit out items, stat points & skill points to further help you in your journey. And don't let your eyes off the main goal- to rescue all kidnapped princesses from each of the world & bring them back to you camp. When you finally feel like you're burned out, you can go ahead and retire. That said, if you enjoy optimizing a gear set to make stat numbers go up, you'll probably enjoy this. The endgame is almost great but left me wanting more. The prestige system is not super compelling but isn't terrible either.. Very glad this fun game was in my recommended list. Fast, casual, pick up and play leveling game with no grind, very quick set and forget battles, and a constant sense of advancement where choices in gear, skills, and stats matter. But if you make an error, fear not, a constantly changing "looted" inventory and new points to spend gives you what you need to try again...and succeed!Love the creative, old-time cartoon artwork that changes based on your choices, the fast animations, easy gear comparisons that keep you moving forward. There was a lot of thought that went into this ridiculously low-priced but hugely fun game. Battle damage numbers and actions are easy to read so that you know whether going for a speed and damage build for that round worked, or whether you need to concentrate on defense. Or speed and crits. Or crits and defense. Build and improve skills that actually do what they say, and that you can actually see working in action. Intuitive and quick.Even full price, this game is well worth it. I've spent far more on games that are overly complex with poor controls and/or interfaces and that require just too much thought to really get into. This is a worthy and fun antidote.. This is NOT an idle game, full blown clicker. Fun to level up and grind out stat bonuses upon retirement.. Most idle style games are free, and for good reason. Their mechanics are generally simplistic, and often their art and sound are subpar (if not almost offensively "retro").Great Hero's Beard is the rare exception for the genre-it's of an unusually high quality in both art and sound, and is fairly engaging. Rather than being able to leave the game alone for hours, coming back to reap the benefits of your AFK time, it requires you to regularly (every couple minutes or so) come back to the game and recycle your gear or change stages.While it doesn't reinvent the wheel with its moment-to-moment gameplay, it keeps things engaging with a very pleasant ambient soundtrack and hand-drawn art and animation style. Trading in your loot (dropped by enemies) builds a meter that eventually awards you either higher quality gear, or stat/skill points, making it more than just a tacked-on feature with no long-term value.Your character's appearance will also reflect his current gear, which is a nice (and frankly, necessary) minor feature of the game.If there's really any complaint, it's that while every piece of gear has a unique name (Like "Poor Butcher's Cleaver" or "Infected Priest's Barbed Hand Wraps", the names are for flavor only, and don't seem to reflect the quality of the gear, or any of the stat boosts that you might get from them. All cleavers look the same, all tunics look the same, etc. While I understand the practicality of that, it seems like needless flavor text that I generally ignore, and instead simply look at the stat lines before recycling or equipping.Also, since this is an idle game, it's not a "clicker"...clicking your mouse does nothing, and so you don't have to worry about clicking like mad and dealing with finger cramps. As far as I'm concerned, this is a huge plus.At its heart though, this is just a game about numbers getting bigger, and trying to make your numbers bigger than your opponents' numbers. If you don't like idle-style games, you're probably not going to like this one. But if you even SLIGHTLY enjoy them, this is worth buying, particularly on sale.. Great Hero's Beard is a fantastic pick-up for its current price of £1.69. I can strongly recommend this game to fans of incremental games (categorised as 'Clicker' by Steam).I am extremely fond of this game, and I have spent the last couple of days eating toast and pork pies whilst saving princesses. I will keep a very close eye on this game, as its developers continue to do their job very well. I do however feel confused by it lending itself to the term 'Clicker' or 'Incremental', giving it a sort of stigma in the eyes of some gamers and yet doesn't fully lend itself to those categorisations. It falls short as a true incremental game due a lack of endless progression, I understand that what steam categorises it as, and what its developers are actually making are two different things. There are a couple of problems I have with its current state, that being its lack of endless progress as I previously stated and it's limitations surrounding 'stat points' and 'skill points'. It also limits the amount of times you can 'prestige' or 'ascend' (60x currently) further limiting my potential enjoyment with this game. That being said, even with these limitations in place I still find myself thoroughly enjoying my time spent in this game.In summary, I think it has flaws but with a great deal of potential and a solid foundation to build upon. I'm certain this game can become a staple in the market of incremental games across the internet given time.. It has a beard in it. One of the best, if not the best incremental game (on Steam, I'm not that familiar with mobile games).A VERY fair price.. The graphics are neat, but the gameplay is bad.This isn't a good clicker game, as you can't interact during the fights (besides leaving the fight) and almost all your clicks will be used to distribute stat points: you have hundreds of then, and you can't put two of them in a row on the same stat for some reason, so get ready for clicking once on Defense, then once on HP, then rinse and repeat a hundred times.This isn't a good idle game, as there is no infinite farm level, no way to auto-enter levels, and in general no way to gain some progress automatically: if you don't manually send your hero to a level when he's done, you'll just waste time.The strategy elements are incredibly lacking: you have 10 skills (all passive), but you'll max out all the good ones in a couple reincarnations and you'll max out all of them shortly after, the equipment you receive does not really allow for any specific build, and of your 5 main stats only HP and Defense are worth considering until the very late game.The addition of princesses as battle helpers did not change that, as they only have 3 stats, one of them being nearly useless (Crit) means you are forced to spread points between the other two (again, can't put two points in a row in the same stat because ♥♥♥♥ you).The grinding elements are lacking too: very limited inventory space, no auto trashing of low quality items, stats cap out relatively early (way too soon to get you through the end game without some lucky equipment drops), items of low quality can be much better than rarer items thanks to poorly designed % bonuses, no ability to save your stat point loadout to avoid hundreds of clicks on each reincarnation, and no side-games, minigames, meta upgrades or any alternative path to progress.On top of that, the current final boss is literally unbeatable: I mean that as, I had maxed out stats, maxed out princesses (every single one of them), some of the best possible equipment farmed in the second hardest level in the game, and I could not even see his health bar move before I got instakilled, so I gave myself almost 10 times higher stats via cheats and I could still not make a dent in his health given his insane hp regeneration.Cherry on the cake, there's a few nasty bugs that might delete your items or force you to delete your save data.Basically, buy this if you feel like spending a dollar to look at some pretty drawings.Edit: apparently the final boss can be beaten if you get really good RNG on his hit rolls and farm near-perfect gear, I personally have not been able to reproduce this legitimately over 100-ish tries (thank god for speedhacks).This final boss drops obscenely good gear that makes said final boss actually beatable without godlike luck, because of course it does.That and the developer answer make it look like the dev team doesn't even understands what difficulty is: difficulty is giving the player a challenge to overcome, not giving them a roulette to spin endlessly until all RNG rolls line up and the player can then spin a different roulette with bigger numbers on it.. 9/10 great game really enjoyed i like clicker/idle games but i actully dont like earning stuff while im away becuse then i have no initiative to play the game and in this you dont which i appreciate got almost thirty hours and plan on play it again when they release there december update amazing devs btw ive talked to em they are really on top of the bugs.
